Nuclear Innovation Conference 2024: Building the Future of Nuclear Energy - 29 June 2024

NRG|PALLAS, in cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), proudly announces the Nuclear Innovation Conference 2024 (NIC2024). This event is aimed at shaping the future of nuclear energy through collaborative exchange and innovation.

Scheduled to take place on June 5-6 in Amsterdam, the conference serves as a premier platform for sharing experiences, insights, and advancements within the nuclear energy sector.

As the global demand for secure energy sources and climate-conscious solutions intensifies, nuclear energy emerges as a cornerstone in achieving long-term sustainability goals. NIC2024 underscores the imperative for cooperation and knowledge sharing within the nuclear community to harness the full potential of existing reactor technologies and pave the way for the deployment of future innovations.

NRG|PALLAS, with over six decades of expertise in the nuclear energy domain, is dedicated to fostering collaboration among industry stakeholders. From compliance management to advanced reactor analyses, our commitment to excellence is reflected in our partnerships and initiatives aimed at driving the industry forward towards a sustainable future.

The conference offers attendees a unique opportunity to engage with a diverse array of stakeholders, including energy utilities, vendors, regulators, and thought leaders from across the globe. Through presentations and discussions, participants will explore topics spanning three distinct tracks:

1. Long Term Operation (LTO) Track
• Addressing organizational and technical challenges associated with ageing management and LTO of current reactor fleets.
• Sharing insights on LTO justification, safety reviews, and license renewal applications from operator and regulator perspectives.

2. New-Build Track
• Examining challenges and opportunities in the realization of new GEN-III-+ reactors worldwide.
• Exploring the role of Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) in fostering a sustainable business case.
• Identifying critical success factors for new-build projects across various stakeholders.

3. Advanced Reactors Track
• Tackling challenges in realizing innovative reactor designs for energy, process heat, and waste reduction.
• Highlighting advancements in organizational development, licensing, and R&D for next-generation technologies.

Keynote speakers at NIC2024 include:

  • William D. Magwood IV, Director General at OECD/NEA
  • Aline des Cloizeaux, Director NENP at IAEA
  • Ad Louter, Managing Director at Urenco Netherlands
